Revolving Doors

A Life Changing App (2017)

In life, there are no revolving doors; once a decision is made and executed, there's almost no turning back. However, the world of cinematic simulation offers a different possibility.

"Revolving Doors" is an app that allows every student to watch a movie on their smartphone where the plot changes based on their decisions, effectively turning every student into a director.

The movie includes several decision points with four options each, leaving the fate of the characters in the hands of the student.

If the plot develops not to the student/director's satisfaction and the outcomes of their decisions are disastrous, the app allows for an escape using a revolving door.

By using it, the student can stop, go back to the previous decision point, change their decision, and watch the outcome of the new course of action, repeatedly. Through this process, each student learns about right and wrong decisions, and we learn about the risk-related choices the students make. The information collected from the app, together with that from the school activities, helps us learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the content and adjust it until satisfactory outcomes are achieved.
